Professor Marschner's Award
Marschner's Session: The role of young scientists in the future of plant nutrition.
We are thrilled to announce the Marschner Young Scientist Award, established in honor of Professor Horst Marschner, a passionate advocate for students and young researchers. This prestigious award celebrates outstanding PhD students and early-career researchers with exceptional potential to become future research leaders.
Awardees will have the exciting opportunity to present their groundbreaking work during a General Session immediately following the Opening Session. We will select one PhD student and one early-career scientist (up to six years post-PhD) based on the following submissions, due by March 1, 2025, to Diana Moreira at dfmoreira@ucp.pt:
- - An abstract prepared according to Colloquium guidelines.
- - A CV (maximum two pages, single-spaced, font size 12) and a list of peer-reviewed publications.
- - A one-page statement from a supervisor highlighting why the candidate is exceptional.
We encourage only the most outstanding students and early-career researchers to apply for this highly coveted award. A distinguished 3-member committee, will evaluate candidates based on academic merit and their research excellence.

Maternity: the number of years after obtaining the PhD is reduced in 18 months per child (before or after PhD completion), proved by birth certificate(s) or any other official document that relates the mother and the child(ren); Paternity: the number of years after obtaining the PhD is reduced for the period of the paternity leave taken per child as defined in the legislation (before or after PhD completion). You must submit an official document certifying the period of leave, with the start and end dates for each leave period. An official document proving the parental leave benefits can also be accepted (with starting and ending dates).
