Prof. Dai-Yin Chao is a group leader at Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences (CEMPS), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He earned a PhD degree in plant molecular genetics from the Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology (SIPPE, now CEMPS) in 2007. From 2007 to 2013, he studied plant ionomics as a postdoctoral researcher in David Salt’s lab at Purdue University and University of Aberdeen. In 2013, he returned to China to serve as a Principal Investigator at SIPPE. His major interests focus on the genetic basis underlying natural variation in the plant ionome and its role in environmental adaptation. He has published 69 papers in journals such as Science, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Plants, Molecular Plant, PLoS Biology, Genes & Development, and Plant Cell. These papers have been cited ~ 9,000 times
