Ismail Cakmak

Ismail Cakmak is a full professor at Sabanci University in Istanbul. He received his Ph.D. in plant nutrition from the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart. Before joining Sabanci University in 2000, he was a faculty member at Cukurova University in Adana, Turkey. Since 2019, he has also held the title of Honorary Professor at the University of Göttingen in Germany. Dr. Cakmak’s research focuses on plant nutritional physiology, stress mitigation by mineral nutrition, and biofortification of food crops with micronutrients. He is an elected member of the Academy of Europe.
