
Marta Vasconcelos
Marta Vasconcelos completed her PhD in Biotechnology 3 at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the International Rice Research Institute. She was a Research Associate at the Children´s Nutrition Center of Baylor College of Medicine (USA). Upon her return to Portugal, she established the PlanTech lab, working in Plant Nutrition, Crop Diversification, and Plant Biotechnology. She was vice director of the Centro de Biotecnologia e Química Fina (CBQF) at Escola Superior de Biotecnologia of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (ESB-UCP) from 2017-2024. Marta Vasconcelos is currently the head of the Environment and Resources Research Group at CBQF, and Assistant Professor and Vice Director (responsible for second cycles) at ESB-UCP. She is an Honorary Associate at the James Hutton Institute, UK (3-year mandate, 2023-2026), a member of the Scientific Panel for Responsible Plant Nutrition by the International Fertilizer Association (3-year mandate), and President of the International Plant Nutrition Council (3-year mandate). In her professional activities, she has collaborated with 594 colleagues on co-authored scientific papers.
