
Patrick Brown
Dr. Patrick Brown is the Distinguished Professor of Plant Nutrition at the University of California, Davis - USA. He received his B.Sc. in 1984 from Adelaide University, Australia and Ph.D. from Cornell University, USA in 1988. Dr. Brown identified Nickel was the 14 th essential plant nutrient and has made many seminal contributions to the field of plant nutrition. Dr. Brown has authored more than 300 scientific journal articles and numerous books and is among the highest cited experts in plant nutrition, biostimulants, boron, foliar fertilizers and horticulture. He is recognized globally as a leader in both basic and applied plant nutrition and tree horticulture. He serves as a member of many scientific and technical committees for professional and governmental agencies and has received numerous awards for his work including:
- The American Society of Plant Biologists - Dennis Hoagland Award, 2021.
- The Soil Science Society of America - Leo M Walsh Award 2021.
- The International Fertilizer Association - Norman Borlaug Science Award 2021.
