
Pierdomenico Perata
Pierdomenico Perata is professor of plant physiology at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, where he was Rector of the university (2013-2019). In 1994 he received the “FESPB Award”, which is awarded by the Federation of European Societies of Plant Physiology (FESPB) for excellence in scientific achievements. He is member of the Italian Academy of Sciences. His research interests include plant hypoxia physiology, sugar sensing and signaling and, more recently, exogenous RNA signaling. He was president of the Italian Society of Plant Biology, and he is currently President of the International Society for Plant Low Oxygen research. His publication record includes over 190 articles published in scientific journals, including Nature, Science, Nature Communications, Nature Plants, PNAS, Molecular Plant, The Plant Cell, The Plant Journal, Plant Physiology, Plant Communications, Trends in Plant Science and many others.
